About Us
Kansas Land Rush www.KansasLandRush.com
- John Kincaid, KansasAuctions.net
The Need: A central internet bulletin board for Real Estate listings throughout the state of Kansas primarily targeted to serve rural areas & small towns throughout the state. Our website serves as low-cost/ no-cost alternative advertising medium for Independent Real Estate Agents and individual property owners. (FSBOs)
The Solution: www.KansasLandRush.com. We’ve created this website primarily for use by the members of the Kansas Auctioneers Association, since many auctioneers are also Independent Real Estate Agents. We also welcome Real Estate ads placed by private property owners. In order to post and ad, you must either be a Kansas licensed Real Estate agent or the actual property owner.
The website is self-service, at no cost to the user. We require advertisers to register at the website first. Please note: we will not allow anonymous third party ads. You will be unable to post until we’ve granted “authorship” rights after reviewing your registration.
No technical skills are required to post an ad. The procedure is similar to creating an e-mail & adding digital photos. Once you are familiar with the functions of the bulletin board, the rest is easy. If you wish us to post an ad on your behalf, please contact us directly. (A small fee will be charged.)
A Work in Progress: This website is a first step. We’ve set it up using WordPress, a free bulletin board software service. This is intended to be a cooperative, community based effort. We hope you will contribute your suggestions & your Real Estate listings.
When you post an ad, you will be able to select a property type, such as a home, a farm, land, commercial property, etc. You will also be able to designate the county where the property is located. Other details, such as asking price, number of acres, square feet, etc., will need to be included in the actual description, if appropriate.
Our website software has certain limitations, but the price was right! If, through community participation, this becomes a high traffic website, then perhaps we can partner with a large database service provider in return for modest website advertising privileges.
About the Name: A website name should be unusual & easy to remember. In the 1850s, Kansas had many Land Offices which were said to be “rushed” when settlers overwhelmed them. Modern Kansas property sellers hope for the same result!
